Alex and Gad are BG's best friends and confidants. Together, they hang out in their tree house, where they play inventive games and read cool comic books. Where Alex is smart-alecky and full of enthusiasm like BG, often jumping on board with her plans, Gad is quieter and more reserved. A whiz at science, brainy Gad often provides BG with a cautionary voice when she is contemplating some new scheme. Both of them occasionally shake their heads in alarm at BG's plans, but are usually convinced to go along with them, as her accomplices. And when the emergency flag is hoisted above the tree house – indicating that BG needs their help right away! – Gad and Alex always come running. Jealousy can occasionally creep up amongst the three of them, like when BG and Alex get tickets to two different events on the same day and try and force Gad to choose between them. But for the most part, these three are loyal and protective of each other, thick as thieves, and the best of friends.
